I can divide my journey on a number of axes. There are the places I have been and studied at. It would feel shallow to me to just talk about the universities, especially because in this modern world it can feel like there are so many other influences that don't get captured in that same "branded" way.

I started as a Cognitive Science major interested in language. I took courses in Psycholinguistics, and was also interested in Cognitive Ethnography and design. I was a great student, but I found that I lacked that deeper drive to pursue academia — I went to college without a definitive plan of what I wanted to get out of it.
