Every time I had to give an update, I hit a divide: the work was already happening and already tracked, but people outside the tools needed a clear account of it. Turning tasks into a non-technical explanation meant doing the translation again from scratch.

Morning Standup is the loading zone between tracking and communication. It brings relevant tasks and linked ticket context into one place, then lets me shape an output for the audience at hand: a summary, a list, or a weekly review. The underlying work remains the input; the destination determines how it is presented.

The same separation could support other presentation formats later, without creating another place to maintain the work.

Core components

Work already in motion

Tasks, notes, and linked tickets are the starting point. The work is already being tracked; a request for an update should not require rebuilding it in another place.

A loading zone for context

Morning Standup gathers the relevant work into a source-specific board where it can be reviewed and shaped before it is communicated. Intake remains the shared home for that context.

Outputs for the moment

The same pool can become a concise summary, a list of what moved, or a weekly review—whatever helps the audience understand the work without needing to navigate its tracking tools.

Room for other formats

The input and the presentation are separate. That makes it possible to add other ways of showing the work later without inventing a new tracking process for each one.
